An alternative ranking ...

The majority of the top bands in the UK, and a growing number of lower-ranked bands too, are now registered as charities.  This means that their annual reports and accounts are published and in the public domain and it is therefore possible to identify the bands that earn the most, and also spend the most!

This is the ranking of bands based on total income earned per the most recent figures published (generally 12 months ending in 2011 although a few have now published their 2012 accounts):
